Four Clover Ventures

Growth & Operations Lead

Four Clover Ventures | B2B SaaS Portfolio Company | Cape Town / Remote | Full Time

Location: Cape Town-based for approximately six months per year, with flexibility to work remotely internationally for the remainder.

Compensation: Competitive base compensation, performance incentives, and potential equity participation.

About the Company

Four Clover Ventures builds and operates niche B2B SaaS companies, bringing modern software to traditionally underserved industries.

We're hiring for one of our growing portfolio companies, an early-stage B2B SaaS business with an established product, paying customers, and strong momentum in the US market.

We believe exceptional companies can be built by small, highly capable teams that combine deep customer understanding, great products, and the ability to move fast.

We're looking for someone who shares that philosophy and has the ambition to eventually lead a business of their own.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Growth & Operations Lead to work directly with the founder and take increasing ownership of a growing SaaS business.

You'll initially focus on customer acquisition, sales, commercial operations, and building the systems that allow the company to scale.

But this role goes well beyond growth.

We're looking for someone who thinks like an entrepreneur, understands how the different parts of a business fit together, and can turn ambitious goals into measurable results.

You'll work closely with our product, engineering, and customer-facing teams, helping determine where we invest our time, resources, and attention.

As the company grows, our ambition is for you to take on broader responsibility for its operations, strategy, and performance, with a potential path toward General Manager or CEO.

This is an opportunity to grow from operating a part of the business to eventually leading the business itself.

What You'll Be Doing

Take ownership of customer acquisition, conversion, and revenue growth initiatives

Develop and improve marketing, sales, onboarding, and retention processes

Analyze business performance and identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability, and efficiency

Build scalable operational systems that reduce manual work and support continued growth

Work closely with the founder on strategy, priorities, and resource allocation

Collaborate with product and engineering to translate customer insights into product improvements

Experiment with new acquisition channels, pricing models, and growth strategies

Leverage AI and automation to improve how the business operates

Help recruit, onboard, and coordinate team members as the company expands

Gradually take ownership of budgeting, planning, team performance, and day-to-day operations

Build the foundations required to scale the business without constant founder involvement

Who We're Looking For

Above all, we're looking for someone with the ambition and judgment to eventually run a company.

You're commercially minded, analytical, resourceful, and comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes.

You understand that building a business isn't about having the best ideas. It's about identifying what matters, making good decisions, and executing consistently.

You're equally comfortable analyzing a spreadsheet, speaking with customers, improving a process, or helping a team solve a difficult problem.

You don't wait for instructions. You identify opportunities, take initiative, and make things happen.

We'd like you to have:

Experience in growth, business operations, entrepreneurship, or commercial leadership

A demonstrated ability to drive measurable business results

Strong analytical skills and an understanding of SaaS metrics, unit economics, and business performance

Experience improving customer acquisition, conversion, or retention

Excellent communication skills and confidence working with international teams and US customers

Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities

An understanding of product development and how customer insights influence product decisions

A genuine curiosity about AI, automation, and building more efficient businesses

The ability to operate independently and make sound decisions with incomplete information

The ambition to grow into a senior leadership role with responsibility for an entire business

Even better if you have:

Founded or helped scale an early-stage company

Experience with B2B SaaS or subscription businesses

Managed a team or owned a business unit's performance

Experience with performance marketing, sales funnels, or revenue operations

Worked closely with software engineers and product teams

Experience building operational processes from scratch

Previously held responsibility for budgets, profitability, or financial planning

An entrepreneurial background, including projects or businesses you've built independently

We care far more about what you've accomplished, how you think, and the responsibility you're capable of taking on than your education or job titles.

What We Offer

A central role in a growing, revenue-generating SaaS business

The flexibility to split your time between Cape Town and remote work internationally

An international working environment with customers primarily in the United States

Competitive compensation with meaningful performance incentives

Potential equity participation tied to long-term contribution

Direct collaboration with the founder and substantial influence over business decisions

The freedom to experiment, challenge assumptions, and build better ways of operating

A small, ambitious team without unnecessary bureaucracy

A genuine opportunity to grow into General Manager or CEO as the business scales

We're looking for someone who wants to build and eventually lead a company, not simply manage a department.

How to Apply

Send us your resume and a short introduction about yourself.

We'd also like you to answer three questions:

1. Growth: Tell us about a time you were personally responsible for growing revenue, acquiring customers, or improving an important business metric. What did you do, and what were the results?

2. Ownership: Imagine you're running a SaaS company generating $20,000 in monthly recurring revenue, with a small development team and a limited marketing budget. What would you focus on to reach $100,000 MRR?

3. Ambition: Where do you want to be professionally in five years, and what excites you about the opportunity to eventually lead a company?

We'll share more details about the company, product, and market with selected candidates during the interview process.

We look forward to hearing from you.
